Girts Strazdins has attained a master’s degree in law from Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich. Girts began his career as an intern in the German Parliament (Bundestag) and as an inhouse lawyer for one of the world’s biggest publishing houses. Before joining Supremia, Girts worked for major Pan-Baltic law firms in Riga and a German midsized law firm in Munich. In addition to law practice, Girts is also the co-author and publisher of the standard Latvian EU law textbook.
Girts is an acknowledged M&A lawyer with a focus on transactions involving cross-border elements. He has been involved in M&A transactions and related disputes of a total deal-size in excess of EUR 50 billion. Girts is also widely known for his vast knowledge and experience in company law related disputes, protection of minority shareholders, management liability, as well as general civil law, contract negotiations and dispute resolution.
Girts offers legal services in Latvian, German, English, and to a lesser extent in Russian.
